Finally some (temporarily) good insurance news coming from the state of California for policyholders.  After the last few years of wildfires obtaining insurance and not being dropped by an insurer in many parts of the state of California has been increasingly difficult. But, yesterday the state has announced a moratorium where they will prevent insurers from non-renewing customers for the next year in and around areas struck  by recent wildfires and they have asked insurers to voluntarily renew policies everywhere in the state for the same period. The New York times article estimates that this should assist approximately 800,000 homeowners in California.  To see if your area is included in this moratorium please click here.
