Chubb Passport 365

A low-cost annual program which offers emergency medical services, medical evacuation (but only if adequate facilities are not locally available), political evacuation and limited trip and baggage delay. This is a better option for those more concerned about medical evacuation and excess medical costs than the cost of lost trip fares and cancellation penalties.

Travel Insurance through AIG Travel Guard

This is a traditional comprehensive travel insurance product available on a per-trip basis and is intended for a special trip.  Coverage must be purchased within 21 days of making the initial deposit for the broadest coverage.

MedJet

This includes broader evacuation coverage and is $295 for an individual and $395 per year for family coverage.

Transport criterion does not require illness/injury to be medically-necessary, serious or life-threatening. Medical transfer coordinated by Medjet is based on member preference, if the member is stable for flight and needs inpatient hospital care – regardless of member having access to appropriate or adequate care. The key criterion is needed inpatient hospital care, which is a limited definition.  There are many outpatient surgical facilities and convalescent centers, however, these do not fit the definition of inpatient hospital care.
