It’s all over the news that the 52 mile Hayward fault in California is potentially more dangerous than the San Andreas Fault. 2 million people live along the lesser known Hayward fault near Oakland and running through some of the most heavily populated urban centers of the Bay Area into Milpitas. What is of most concern is that the fault averages a major earthquake every 150-160 years and the 150th anniversary of the last major earthquake is coming up on October 21. For more detail from the LA Times click here.
